Electrolysis: Permanent Hair Removal for Unwanted Hair
Embracing Diversity: Women of All Ages, Hair Colors, and Skin Tones
Why are we, as women, so embarrassed to talk about unwanted hair?
This is a topic many women “research” privately on their devices. You are not alone!
Excess hair growth can result from various factors, including hormonal changes related to puberty, pregnancy, PCOS, menopause, diabetes, or an underlying medical condition. Genetics, ethnicity, medications, and even supplements can also contribute. Throughout a woman’s life, hormonal fluctuations can cause hair to grow in unexpected places such as the chin, upper lip, breasts, sternum, and abdomen (above the pubis).
Dealing with Facial Hair After 50 or During/After Menopause
Electrolysis: Permanent Hair Removal for Menopausal Chin Hair
For women, dealing with facial hair is never enjoyable. Around the age of 50, or during and after menopause, coarse, dark whiskers may start appearing on the chin and upper lip. Whether it’s one hair, ten hairs, or a hundred, if it bothers us, we want it gone. Many women turn to tweezing, threading, waxing, or shaving, but none of these are permanent solutions—the hair always returns. Moreover, these temporary methods can often lead to ingrown hairs due to follicle distortion.
Can I have Electrolysis if I’m Pregnant?
No…and yes….. During the 1st trimester, it’s contraindicated, so during that time frame electrolysis can not be performed. However, after your first trimester (with the exception of breasts and belly), electrolysis is permitted.
